The Court of Appeal of Bucharest, the VI-th Civil section, has decided in favour of Cupru Min SA Abrud on Friday, the 21st of March 2014, in the litigation vs Energo Mineral SA București. The litigation was, for the second time in the phase of appeal, in the second cycle of procedure.
By admitting the appeal formulated by Cupru Min SA, the Court denied the claim of Energo Mineral to cancel the contracts between Cuprumin and Energo Mineral from 2007 (Cooperative agreement, contract lease and the contract of technical assistance). Therefore, Cupru Min was exempted from paying the sum of 77 million lei (about 17,3 million euro) given by the decision of the Bucharest Court to Energo Mineral, the insolvent company.

The trial against Cupru Min SA Abrud was initiated in 2010 by the legal administrator of Energo Mineral, Activ Lichidator Bucuresti. In september 2013, the Court of Bucharest has obliged the state company to pay the ammount of over 77 million lei to Energo Mineral, by means of a decision that made the object of the appeal solved by the Court of Appeal of Bucharest in the file no. 31925/3/2010* (3300/2013 ).
