Bio

Ion Dragne is widely regarded as one of Romania’s foremost litigators, recognised for innovative thinking and a measured approach to the most complex disputes. He advises multinational corporations, banks and financial institutions, public authorities, state-owned entities and international organisations across the full spectrum of domestic and cross-border litigation and commercial transactions.

His practice covers high-value commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitration — including treaty-based investment disputes — and strategic counsel in landmark corporate matters. Over three decades of practice, he has been counsel of record in cases that have shaped Romanian judicial doctrine.

Consistently ranked Band 1 in Dispute Resolution by Chambers Europe and listed in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Romania, Ion Dragne is widely acknowledged as a market leader. He served as Dean of the Bucharest Bar from 2015 to 2023 and is a Lecturer in Civil Procedure Law at the Nicolae Titulescu University Law School, Bucharest.
